LOCATION: Northern California


POSITION: Service Technician, Specialty Treatment Solutions





This position will be responsible for ongoing operation and maintenance of customer’s wastewater treatment systems and associated equipment.  Providing customers with prompt, professional, high quality service associated with modular wastewater treatment systems.


SCHEDULE: TBD Based off company needs. Must be able to work standby, holidays, weekends and overtime as required. Services provided may be scheduled or on-demand.



  • Perform startups, periodic operations checks, equipment inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and/or preventive maintenance services on modular wastewater treatment systems and associated equipment and components at customer sites
  • Installing, configuring, calibrating, and maintaining control, measurement, and indicating instrumentation and probes (pneumatic, analog, & digital); Installing and terminating electrical, pneumatic and fluid connections
  • Ability to understand controls narratives and analyze/troubleshoot process application related issues
  • Properly address TCP/IP networks and RS-485 communications
  • Ability to repair modular wastewater treatment systems and associated equipment and components including but not limited to membrane; screening equipment; pumps; blowers; diffusers; motors; chemical feed systems; valves; piping; flow meters; monitoring probes and components; sensors, transmitters, and transducers; and controls systems
  • Ability to read engineering and technical drawings including diagrams and other process documentation to perform service tasks, assembly and repair on modular wastewater treatment systems and associated equipment and component
  • Maintain effective communication with customers
  • Evaluate customer future needs and communicate information through appropriate channels
  • Provide technical and commercial leadership and direct the work of field service activities
  • Provide direct supervision and technical support to service personnel who perform on-site services, including installation, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance and repair
  • Manage effective field service scheduling and reporting to assure customer requirements have been met in a timely manner and are visible and accurate in the service scheduling software.
  • Aid engineering department in plant design, modifications, and hazard analysis
  • Ability to schedule and plan trave and service including using the Concur booking tool
  • Provide timely reporting of work performed and of the material/supplies used and its conditions
  •  Conduct customer training as necessary on modular wastewater treatment systems and associated equipment and components when onsite
  • Maintain a clean and safe working area while following all Federal, State, County and City’s safety rules
  • Participate in departmental initiatives such as, but not limited to, inventory counts, shop organization, clean-up and other duties assigned by the manager
  • Performs other duties as assigned by direct supervisor



  • Associates Degree (2 years schooling) in Environmental, Electrical, or Controls Engineering or equivalent experience with wastewater treatment plant operation and maintenance Ability to communicate clearly in English (verbally and written)
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Minimum 5 years’ field and/or repair experience directly related to water and wastewater treatment equipment
  • Knowledge of wastewater treatment systems (License to Operate Wastewater Treatment Facility or previous experience with operating an MBBR and/or MBR facility preferred
  • Knowledge of computer skills including Windows, Microsoft Office, Internet Abilities; TCP/IP networks and RS-485 communications; Allen Bradley PLC experience is preferred
  • Knowledge of RS Logix 5000 experience is preferred
  • PLC or similar Ladder-Logic programming experience is desired
  • Ability to interpret process flow, control wiring, as well as piping and instrumentation diagrams
  • Ability to welding (brazing, cutting, welding, plasma) a plus
  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) – Safety Glasses, Steel Toe Boots & Gloves
  • Ability to Travel on Airplane, Train and/or Car




  • Employee frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms. Employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Employee must regularly lift and or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds
