Operational Technical Services (OTS) is one of the fastest growing private water and wastewater utility staffing providers in the country. OTS offers temporary, temp to hire, direct hire and emergency on-call opportunities including great benefits.

LOCATION: Squaw Valley, CA

POSITION TITLE:  Production Operator – On-Call / Weekends 

COMPENSATION PER HOUR: $30 – $32 DOE 

DESCRIPTION OF BASIC FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES TYPICAL DUTIES:

  • Record system data; including pump operational status, pump run time, pump meter reading, system pressure, and tank level. 

  • Check chlorination and corrosion control equipment.  Adjust as necessary to maintain chlorine residual levels in the system.  Record pounds of chlorine and caustic used and dosage.

  • Operate chlorination and caustic equipment.  Check for leaks at feed pumps and fittings.  Clean and wash down spills and leaks. 

  • Maintain good housekeeping.  Wipe down cabinets, instruments, pumps/motors and piping; sweep floors, clean up spills off floors, oiler overflow or drips. 

  • Identify issues with SCADA system.

  • Conduct pH and chlorine residual tests when corrosion control and chlorination equipment are being operated. 

  • Perform minor repairs as required. Inform Mutual of major equipment malfunctions as soon as practical.

  • Water main, valve, meter, & lateral (between main and property line) repair.

  • Vertical and horizontal well repair.

  • Hydrant repair. 

  • Water treatment systems repair (chlorine, caustic soda).

  • Inspect existing water meter boxes (leaks, insulation, access, etc.).emergency these duties are required:

ABILITY TO:
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: 

  • 3 years of onsite production well experience and on-call standby work

LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION REQUIRED: 

  • T2

  • D2

  • Current CA Drivers License
